South Pasadena, CA  91030 South Pasadena prides itself on quick response times from its Police and Fire Departments.  However, following a major emergency, such as a significant earthquake, local first responders will likely be overwhelmed and unable to respond to all calls for service in a timely manner.  This means that you and your neighbors should be prepared to take care of yourselves and each other for at least several days. They survey response information will be stored in the City’s Emergency Operations Center and will assist the City in responding to you and your neighbors’ needs during an emergency.  To find out more about how you and your neighbors can organize as a group to prepare for a disaster, access the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Manual online at http://www.ci.south-pasadena.ca.us/government/PDFs/commissions/CERTmanual.pdf.

" South Pasadena homeowners wishing to upgrade or replace their windows should be aware that building permits are required for all new windows, even when the existing window openings are retained. Applicants should check first with the Planning & Building department (626 403 7220) before engaging a licensed contractor. If bedroom windows are being replaced, they will need to meet today’s emergency egress size requirements.
