Library Author Night with Monica Holloway on April 22
Celebrated author Monica Holloway will discuss her latest release Cowboy and Wills during an Author Night event on Thursday, April 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the Library Community Room. The book is the exceptionally moving story of her young son who was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and his wonderful relationship with the golden retriever puppy who transformed his life. It’s been called “charming,” “winning”, and “touching” by such publications as The Washington Post and Publisher’s Weekly. Monica’s first book Driving With Dead People, a darkly humorous tale of growing up in ahorrifically dysfunctional family, has been optioned for development into a motion picture.
The program is presented by the South Pasadena Public Library, the Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library, the Kiwanis Club of South Pasadena, and the Institute for the Redesign of Learning. The event will also present “Inside Looking Out,” an award-winning nine minute documentary by student filmmaker Nick Simone about what it’s like to live with Asperger’s. Also featured will be local singing sensation Matthew Myronowicz who recently finished second during LA tryouts for the “America’s Got Talent” TV show
The Community Room is located at 1115 El Centro Street. No tickets or reservations are necessary. Refreshments will be provided. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. |
